Hey, can anyone tell me what I need to make an LJ-icon with words that change? I can crop a picture and make an Icon fairly easily, and I can make permanent, static words on it, but I want something where one phrase appears, and five seconds later it changes to another phrase.

Hrm. Lograh, I need you! I need a decent headshot of my cat for another Icon I've been wanting to do forever. And you're the only Digicam-having guy I know! Schedule with me! ;)

Ok.

Saturday I took my DVDs and pulled out all those I simply cannot make myself sell off, leaving 40 movies to sell. Some of those I decided to live without hurt a little (Go is one of my favorite movies, but not as much as, say, Blade Runner(which was kept)), but none I couldn't cope with losing.

[livejournal.com profile] thunderlord and his wife bought a few, claiming first salvage rights, and [livejournal.com profile] mslulu refused to let me sell Sneakers, instead trading me two movies she didn't want anymore for it.

The rest were sold -- for enough to pay rent, plus get a full tank of gas, plus a reserve sufficient for 1/2 tank of gas, should I need it before payday.

Crisis is now averted. It's not comfy, but it's survival. And right now, that's all I require.

Wow. I just saw a picture of me from January 2003. I hadn't quite realized how much weight I've lost. I mean, sure, there's still a lot of weight still to flee my frame, but ... damn!

It's been 14 years since I rode a horse regularly. I'll bet anyone watching me do so now would refuse to believe I rode damn near every day for years.

I miss it. I also miss cruising the bay in a privately-owned boat; driving to LA in a motorhome (the ROOM!), and all the other trappings of my childhood.

SkyHigh Airlines is cool!

They have great advice like "There's a good chance you'll miss many of your connecting flights. Either speedwalk or slip an electric cart driver a five-spot and tell him to floor it. Good luck."

(It's a joke airline. Play with the "book a flight" option and it will refer you to Alaska Air, the real airline with a sense of humor.)

Hey, honey? In the future, when it comes time to name a daughter ... what do you think about "Alia"?

Alia Atreides ... maybe that's just too wrong. ;)

Maybe Irulan? Irulan Atreides is nice.

Elizabeth? Put down the rolling pin, Elizabeth.

Ow! Ow! OWOWOWOWOW!
