Water Line
Weird. We have a water supply pipe that is outside our home. It's leaking, and we can't really afford to replace the line. Our Home Warranty doesn't cover anything not enclosed within the walls of the house, and the Homeowner's Insurance covers only damage caused if the pipe breaks the house. But if the pipe should burst and not damage our home, we're responsible. This is one of those parts of home ownership I hate.
Now it's all down to where the County decides the cutoff is between their responsibility and ours. Because meters were installed recently, it gets muddy as to where that boundary is--if it's on their side, they fix it. If it's on ours, we're shit out of luck and will have to save and hope to the sky the stupid pipe holds until we can afford the repair, which the plumbers quoted as $4000. We're looking for lower cost estimates, too, of course.
