Car Update

So, we've decided it would be stupid, though emotionally satisfying, to junk my Piece of Crap car when we can't yet replace it. So we'll be getting it fixed.

I had considered doing it myself, but I'm just not confident in my ability to get it done right. The last time I attempted a repair on this car that I had done on my earlier cars, I messed it up bad and it cost me extra money. There's a garage nearby that seems reasonable. So we'll likely get it done this weekend or next week so I'll have a car for school.

In which Mahdi gets Comic Book Nerd-y

My daughter and I went to the store to get a loaf of bread today. While there she went ga-ga over a book with Spider-Man on the cover, and because I'm a sucker doting father, and also because it was only $1.00, I got it for her.

Looking over it, I'm appalled. The book is about Spider-Man and some of his friends, but this thing has been so utterly sanitized it's just weird. F'r instance:

Named after the Norse God of Thunder, young Thor loves the sights and sounds of thunderstorms.

Unless something has drastically changed in Marvel, Thor isn't named after the Norse God of Thunder, he fracking is the Norse God of Thunder!

Ah well. She'll learn it all the right way someday.
