In which Mahdi gets Comic Book Nerd-y

johnstonmrMy daughter and I went to the store to get a loaf of bread today. While there she went ga-ga over a book with Spider-Man on the cover, and because I'm a sucker doting father, and also because it was only $1.00, I got it for her.
Looking over it, I'm appalled. The book is about Spider-Man and some of his friends, but this thing has been so utterly sanitized it's just weird. F'r instance:
Unless something has drastically changed in Marvel, Thor isn't named after the Norse God of Thunder, he fracking is the Norse God of Thunder!
Ah well. She'll learn it all the right way someday.
