Here is an interesting article from the New York Times about the origin of these "death panel" rumors. Interestingly, one of the sources is the Washington Times, owned by cult leader Sun Myung-Moon.

I wonder what my parents would say if they discovered Myung-Moon was the source of their beloved ideas?
