I began pre-service training last week. Interesting. Basically, from now until sometime in August, I am busy until 8pm just about every Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday. There are also some Mondays in there. It's not what I'd call "fun," but it's interesting.
In the first class, there were several folks that needed simple concepts explained to them multiple times. I've become somewhat accustomed to this, because it's fairly common even in upper-division classes, but it's damned annoying. As another candidate said, "This is why I don't want to teach Elementary school." I didn't have the heart to tell him it'll hit him in secondary education, too.
I am the Application Madman, sending apps to just about every opening I see. Hopefully I'll get a bite soon, but I'm not holding my breath. I'd like to stay with Impact at this point, but I'm still attending the Pipeline job conference June 24th. No sense in closing off a possible employment avenue until I have to.
