The following applies to NBC:
Canceled: Surface, Teachers*,
New shows include "Heroes," about ordinary people who wake up after an eclipse to discover they now have super powers (shades of JMS' Rising Stars and The 4400, methinks), Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip, an Aaron Sorkin "dramedy" in the vein of his Sports Night, with Matthew Perry, Amanda Peete, Tim Busfield, and others, and a bunch of other stuff I don't care about.
But Aaron Sorkin. Comedy. With Matt Perry. May I just say, Yes, please.
* I'm a little bummed on this one. The show was mediocre at best, but really -- can you get a decent show with only six episodes? This tendency of the networks to expect instant hits is a pain. If they'd had more time, they might have discovered their wings.
