This crap makes me ill.

I hope they never allow this woman to teach again.

Note that this rant is not anti-vegetarianism. It IS anti-some-particular-idiots-who-happen-to-be-vegetarian. It was set off by a comment I saw (not to me, but just sent out there) from a PETA member with less than the usual number of brain cells.

I am so! Bloody! Tired! of these people.

"Vegetarians are more enlightened," they say, "because we don't eat meat. Therefore we're not killing to maintain ourselves."

Ok, setting aside the fact that they're still killing vegetables (which apparently don't have rights unless you're a complete fucknut fruitarian), I reject utterly the claim that not eating meat makes you more enlightened.

See, I know a lot of people who don't eat meat. Some of them don't eat it for ethical reasons, some for health reasons, and some to make their significant others happy. And you know what? Some of them, despite not eating meat, are still absolutely and completely fucked-in-the-head unenlightened assholes.

I also know a lot of people who do eat meat. And while I wouldn't claim they're in any way better than those who don't, I also can't deny that some of them are pretty enlightened and awesome people. In my opinion, anyway, which is really all I have to go on.

Hell, I could argue that by not eating meat, you're taking yourself away from enlightenment by deciding that you're better than the universe made you. After all, you're setting yourself apart from the natural order of the universe, rejecting the way you were designed just because you want to.

Of course, the reality is that diet has very little or nothing to do with how enlightened, wise, and generally good a person is. Some vegetarians are pretty damned wise and spiffy people. Some are not.

If you fucktards I'm talking about want to call yourselves enlightened, knock yourselves out. But try to live up to the label somehow, eh? You might start by not preaching to the rest of us as if you're holy.
