State of the Mahdi
So. Blair's sick this morning, so instead of going home after class for some cuddle-time with my cats and a re-stock of my on-the-go wardrobe, I had to come back here. Oh well, I'll wash the stuff I have tonight. Maybe tomorrow I'll have time to head home real quick.
Last night I discovered that Aunt Mina has shattered her hip and is in rehab. Her dementia has increased to the point that she's going to have to be put in a home; she can no longer live on her own.
Six days after she was admitted to the hospital last week, her husband died. Her reaction? "Oh, I've lost my bingo partner." She's that far gone. Better that, though, than the near-breakdown she suffered when her first husband died.
This has been a terrible year for my family; we've so far lost three people close to us, we're set to lose another in the next month, and Aunt Mina may go by the end of the year.
Lovely.
