Sometimes, the Man is on your side
Back in 2000, I completely spaced out on filing my state taxes. Consequently, I owe $365 to the State of California. I've been dreading this, avoiding the mail, for a while now, simply because I cannot afford to pay it. $365 isn't a lot, really, but I'm currently working with only $100 or so above bills each month as it is.
Today I finally caved and called the FTB to make some kind of deal. I was helped by a very nice guy who told me that not only does the state owe me $70 for 2001 (I didn't file then because I made under the required amount and never realized they owed me money) that will be applied to the debt if I file, but he helped me to figure out how to get a payment plan set up that won't break my pocket, and will get the thing paid off relatively soon. He did all the stuff to get my account frozen so it won't go to collections and cost me more money, and was very good at calming me down. I'm much less stressed about this than I was a few days ago.

Doctor Who news ...
According to the BBC, they've recovered an episode from the William Hartnell "Dalek's Master Plan" story.
Also, Anthony Head came out tops in a Radio Times poll question "Who should be the next Doctor?"
He said "I'm in very good company -- good god, I beat out Alan Rickman."

Free Enterprise 2!
So I was cruising IMDB and found this, from the writer of Free Enterprise, which is one of Elli's and my favorite movies:
For those of you interested, as of November 5th, 2003, Mark and I are currently writing the script for the sequel (now sporting the subtitle "My Big Geek Wedding"). Mr. Shatner is currently bugging us about the finished script and we're trying to finish it to our satisifaction. I want it to be a far more accomplished film then the first, which means a larger budget and a longer production time. It's the least we can give fans of the first film...
