Oi.

Friday evening Elli and I loaded up my car and headed for the Bay Area. First we checked out Andrea's house and decided on what needed to be done, along with Elli's sister Katie. Then we picked [livejournal.com profile] kasul and [livejournal.com profile] lemur_hunter up from the airport and ferried them back to their apartment, where we stayed the night. We were up until 3am despite knowing better, but it was a fun evening and we don't get to see them often enough.

Saturday began the herculean task of redoing Andie's room for her and her daughter and making the rest of the house safe. We scraped paint, painted, spackled, and scrubbed the CRAP out of that place over Saturday and Sunday. Working alongside Elli and I were Marty, Gabbie (I don't think either of them LJs), Andrea herself, and for a limited time Dirk, Katie, Camilla, and Elli's brother John (none of whom are LJ-enabled. Which is good, for my friendslist is too long already).

Finally, at 6pm Sunday, Elizabeth and I began our trek home. I made it into my bed at 10pm, and slept like the dead. I was 1/2 hour late for work. Oh frelling well.

I ache all over, I'm still tired, and a little cranky, but overall we did some good work this weekend and I'm happy about it. But I hereby swear that the most strenuous activity I will partake in NEXT weekend is Elli's game. I am DONE with hard labor for the month.

Entered my name in this thing. It gave me back this:

Michael Atreides is as bright as a button and as sharp as a blade. If there's ever anything you need to know, Michael Atreides is the person to ask. Chances are he will know the answer already. If not he will go and ask someone else, and he will keep asking until he gets an answer. Michael simply cannot stand the idea of a question that has no answer, so if he cannot get a satisfactory explanation he will invent one. A good one. He is after all as bright as a button. There are, though, some questions in life which are best left unanswered. The rest of us know to leave them alone. Michael cannot resist the urge to explore them. He is drawn to such questions, like, well, like a button to a button hole! Michael answers these questions cleverly because, after all as sharp as a blade, but then you know what they say about people who are too sharp...

Michael can be very cutting sometimes. He doesn't mean to be. He just can't help it. Michael can't stop himself from daring to say what other people hardly dare to think. This is why Michael often gets himself into trouble but it is also why Michael is such an interesting person to know. Life with Michael Atreides is never dull. There's always an adventure, a challenge or a deal to be done. Michael loves to do deals. The word 'no' is not in his vocabulary. When he hears it Michael is immediately tempted to reply "Is that 'no' as in 'maybe', 'no' as in 'I need to be persuaded,' or 'no as in 'not quite yet?' Luckily Michael gets clean away with this kind of attitude. Michael Atreides, at least when it comes to the unanswerable question, is living proof of the old adage "Who dares...wins".

Yeah. Right.

Yeesh!
