Regarding this entry from yesterday:

Elisandra convinced me, with a little help from Lograh, that I'm very wrong on the accent question, and I concede that that was a petty comment that should have been beneath me.

Lograh and Ktbee convinced me there are other reasons for voting Davis out of office than what I suggested, and reminded me that one can be intelligent and informed and still make choices opposite mine. I apologize that in my (somewhat irrational) anger at the outcome, I said otherwise. It was unfair to several million intelligent people, and more importantly, unfair to two of my favorite people.

An anonymous user tells me I'm an idiot, and thanks her god I'm not involved in politics, because I have no clue. *shrug*

I was reading Good Omens again yesterday, and found this quote:
It may help to understand human affairs to be clear that most of the great triumphs and tragedies of history are caused, not by people being fundamentally good or fundamentally bad, but by people being fundamentally people.

Here's one for the "huh?" entry: While an opponent of the recall, it would be stretching truth to the breaking point to say I actually supported or liked Gray Davis. I realize everything I've written sounds like I did, but the fact is the man has pissed me off, too. I just thought he deserved a chance to fix the things he DID do wrong.

Good news! For me, anyway.

The sequel to Jumper was turned in to the publishers in August 2003. I'll be looking for it, though I suspect it may not hit the shelves until next summer.
