So, my company has decided to spend some money on us and improve the equipment -- the out-of-date computers, etc. A week or so ago they passed around a survey asking what we thought of the computers, the desks, the chairs, and other stuff. I railed about the chairs -- no back support, broken and welded together, no adjustments possible for the various body types, about as comfortable as sitting on a spike, on and on I went.

Yesterday they came to me with a chair they're considering buying for the office and asked me to try it out. At this point, if any of them come to get it back (it's just a demo model), they'll leave with bloody head trauma.

I love this damned chair.

I saw Jack Nicholson referred to as "our Dark Lord of the Arched Eyebrow."

Dammit, that's my title!!

Hmm.

Uber-author Steven Gould answered me! Said he's hard at work on the sequel to Jumper, one of my all-time favorite books.

I canna wait!

Advance warning to my SW players:

If San Francisco's Sakura Matsuri takes place on a game weekend this year, you'll find me in Japantown watching the Anime parade instead of running game.

Ugh.

I just spent an hour writing for the Shattered World project. I looked back at it afterwards, and it's all crap. I didn't delete it, because I might be able to fix it, but yeesh. YEESH! It was awful.

Here's a sample of what I do when I'm not 'in the groove' )

Despite the fact it's over 20 years old, there is still something incredibly awesome about the sound of a Cylon.

My computer (named Zathras) now greets me with "Presenting his Eminence; Our Imperious Leader" in full Cylon mode, and shuts down with Lucifer (the majordomo to Baltar) saying "By your command."

Yes, I STILL love Battlestar Galactica. Fuck you.
