I'm pulling a Nina. I hated today's Friday Five, so I'm doing last year's.

1. What's the best gift you've ever received?
Sheesh. Since I met Mike, there've been a lot of nifty presents, but the best I'd have to say is my desk. It's perfect, exactly the one I was coveting but couldn't afford, and I love it to death.

2. What's the worst?
Austin Powers action figures. Also from Mike.

3. What do you want for Christmas/Hannukah/Kwanzaa this year?Two parties are planned for House Atreides: one to watch all those old Claymation specials and other christmas movies, and one to celebrate the holidays and exchange prezzies with friends.

4. As far as Holiday shopping goes, do you buy throughout the year or do it last-minute? Last minute, baby. And unlike the vast majority of the human race, I love it. I LOVE the crush of people, the general feeling of happiness that pervades, the rain, the cold... sheer joy.

5. How do you plan to spend your weekend?Friday night roleplaying; saturday unknown -- I was invited (as was Terri) to see Margaret Cho, but I'm not sure what that's about.

The Mahdi, 'mech-game WHORE.

Ok, so there's this XBox game I'm hoping I get for Christmas, called "Steel Batallion". It will sell for somewhere between $150 and $250 because it's not just the game, but a huge 40+ button controller designed specifically for this game. It's a realistic 'mech simulator, my second-favorite game type.

I just found out that if you die in a mission (your 'mech is destroyed and you fail to eject), the game deletes your saved game, forcing you to start the campaign over.

This simultaneously maddens me and gives me a woody.
