Ok. So. Please answer these. If you don't weigh in, you're don't get input and might be disappointed. My preferences are in italics, and are just FYIs, not demands.

I'm planning a jaunt to San Francisco on August 31.

1) Do you wish to go?

2) How would you prefer to travel: Car (caravan) or train? For purposes of reference, the train option would make a total cost of $30 per person for the day, I believe. Train

3) What would you like to DO while there? Where would you like to go? What kinds of food are you looking to have?

Terri, I hope you know where your map is.

funny thing about that map... I knew where it was before Liz and I cleaned... now I'll have to figure out where it would have logically ended up.

oh, and I'm voting for car, at least as far as a BART station, then switch to BART/MUNI

of course, that map is starting to get old anyway... couldn't hurt to by a new one.

1) Do you wish to go?

Sure, it is always good to travel

Train would be fine, but the downside is that we have to stick to a scheduel

Whatever. It is a big city and I have only seen a portion of it.

1) Yes.

2) I'm with Aaron on this one. We'll have to keep a schedule, which I hate. On the other hand, it would probably be cheaper to train. Terri's caravan/bart solution sounds good. I can drive, if anyone is interested. I can also *gasp* rent a car, that is, as soon as I get my credit card back.

3) No agenda. I'd like to try that Mexican place, but if it's not in the cards that time, then we can go another time. Metreon sounds fun, but that might only appeal to half our group. Actually, I would like to go to the Park if possible, Tea House and all that. But, again, if it's not in the cards, then so be it.

Ah! the submit button helps.

Driving to BART is fine, but not Richmond Station, pain in the arse to find. I can drive Geeves.

I have always wanted to go to Alcatraz Island, and BJ and Bev said it was a cheap 3hour thing to do and it's fun. Also, I am all over spending $$$ at the Metreon. Those who want to Vid can and those who don't can window shop or see a movie. I would like to go to the Moma and I also would love to take some photos while we are out and about.
I would love to get food at Hana Zen, that Japanese resturant run by the Yakuza. And I would like to go to Japan Town. I don't think I have ever been there.

Pizza at Zachary's would be great.

I have a CA Thomas Bro's Guide, btw.

Of course, the Alcatraz After Dark trip, which I would love to do sometime, is pretty pricey.

A week in advance, yes, a month, no. There are no tickets available for tomorrow, but the next three saturdays, no problem. And not as pricey as I though... I was also thinking $20 or so. They can be ordered online for as low as 11.50.

I would love to travel into the city with such friends as these. :)

As far as getting from place to place, I think Terri is correct. We should drive to a BART station of some kind and take BART into the city, then rely on muni. For one thing, I prefer to hoof it/take public transit in the city. It's just more...real somehow. Secondly, I hate parking in the city, and it costs lots of money and makes it hard to coordinate things. I'm pretty sure we'll need more than one car, like we did last time, and wasn't that a pain in the ass!

Lastly, here are my choices for things I want to do:

Exploratorium (if it's still cheap) I haven't been in YEARS.
The Park - The gardens and pretty whatnots I haven't seen in a long time, either
Fort Point - I just love the feeling of being UNDER the bridge.

And lastly, something I have never done but always wanted to- the Alcatraz tour. I hear that it's only like 10 bucks, and the tour lasts quite a while. Just sounds fun to me.

Anyway, I'll be happy to do whatever, but these are some of the things I'd like to do.
