I'm looking for some Beta readers for a space-opera novel. Currently there is only 1 chapter. I'm not entirely sure how often I'll send out material to Beta readers; it could be one chapter a month or one chapter now and three more in two weeks (don't hold your breath) Yes, that's uneven. Sorry. Should I ever get the damned thing published (fat chance, to be honest, but we'll see), you'll get mentioned if at all possible (in other words, unless the publisher won't let me include an acknowledgement, which may of course happen, given I'm a Nobody in that world so far).

What I need from Betas:

Quick return commentary whenever possible. The sooner I hear from Betas, the sooner I can fix things that might spiral out of control if I continue to write without realizing I screwed the pooch until I have to rewrite half the book.

Commentary on literary elements such as plot logic, characters, and setting/world issues. Is this character too stupid for words? Is he too much of a jerk or too much of a nice guy? Is his motivation non-existent? That kind of thing.

What I do NOT need:

Grammar help. I teach English; you can safely assume that any grammatical errors that sneak into the work will be corrected (by my eyes and maybe even yours) before I finalize the book, but I'm not worried about them now.
