Ugh.

I have one of those students who never seems to realize how rude she actually is. She constantly criticizes other students, and when I call her on it, she claims she's not criticizing, just commenting. I can't get her to see how rude some of the things she says are.

She's got that same sort of intellectual snobbery that I had in high school, and is totally convinced of her superiority to others in her class. The sad thing is... she's not nearly as smart as she thinks she is. She's a good kid, and I like her, but a little of her goes a LONG way. And I wonder if that's exactly what my teachers thought of me, way back when...

Maybe give her some special assignments, because if she has to work harder she may A) not have time to "help" everyone else, B) realize how far she has to go and, C) be better prepared for college?
