Getting nervous...

Bad news:
Four to Five (depending on district) weeks until school starts. I still don't have a contract. I am, therefore, getting very nervous.

Good news: I might have a shot at a job in the Davis school district. That'd be great; it's a hard district to crack. Downside is it's an oddly-run school on a non-traditional model I'm not entirely comfortable with, but I'd be willing to give it a shot. I could always work out my contract and then transfer to another school if it's not a good fit.

Angie got her first post-credential teaching job about (I think) 2-3 weeks before the semester started. (Something about a teacher and a principal suddenly being replaced, a late start on the hiring process, and Angie showing up with a 101 degree fever, on the last day to submit applications, to hand in her resume.)

Yeah, and I've heard stories about people getting hired a day before school started. *shudder*

Still, as often as they tell us stuff like that, we're all beginning to panic a little.

If you let me know which school it is, I'd be happy to give you my feedback. I've done quite a bit of research.

The school is Da Vinci High. I'm sure it's a good school, but their non-traditional grading scheme hasn't entirely won me over yet. I'm all for lifelong-learning outcomes, but I'm not sure their grading scheme and I will agree--it's a little too "corporate review" for my tastes.
