It looks like the likelihood of being employed by the SCUSD is gone. I just got a letter saying, basically, that SCUSD isn't ready to make offers to interns at this time, and that we should seek employment in other districts. The thing is, that basically means Stockton and Galt -- two places I do not want to work.

In the meantime, they're saying I should take the preservice class in June on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday nights just in case SCUSD decides to hire me. I guess I don't really have a choice, unless Pipeline snaps me up before then and gets me a position somewhere else.

*sigh* Never fails--just when everything is going my way, the universe screws with me. I finally manage to graduate, with a high GPA, and this happens. It's not anyone's fault; financial problems in the district have caused this (they had to lay off a bunch of Primary educators, and those people get first shot at the secondary education jobs). But it stinks. And brings home that I should have done all this years ago, when I was first in school. Why the hell did I ever leave? I should have swallowed my pride, moved back in with my parents, and kept going to school. Of course, my study habits at the time were crap, so I probably wouldn't have done as well as I did now, but ... eh. Second-guessing the past isn't going to get me anywhere.

It looks like Project Pipeline is now my best chance. I turned in that application today; let's hope for some good news.

Edit: Seems another part of the problem is that SCUSD is MASSIVELY in the hole, financially speaking.

Crap. The one year you apply, of course.

Well maybe it wil turn out for the best. Maybe Pipeline will work better for us in the long run, or maybe some other miraculous thing will happen.

Hey- just remember that you graduated, you worked hard and did well, and some day, even if not this moment, it will pay off. Heck, you know, I just think you're 10 times sexier now that you've graduated. maybe it will pay off tonight. *wink wink nudge nudge*

I don't know if you've already addressed this in a previous post, but have you tried San Juan yet?
