My aunt forwarded yet another of these damn things to me. This one supposedly answered the question "Where was GOD on September 11?" It goes on to say that their god was busy making sure only 266 people got on the flights, that he was busy holding up "two 110 story towers so 2/3 of the workers could get out," and other things of a similar nature. The implication is that god did a lot that day, and was too busy to prevent the catastrophe.
Karla's comment was "This one says it all."
It sure does. It says they're ignoring several basic facts:
1) According to their own holy book, god is omniscient and omnipotent.
2) Their god supposedly loves all people. (Well, IF they claim allegiance to it)
Given these facts, shouldn't "he" have prevented the disaster? Wouldn't that be infinitely better than just saving a few?
Then there is this gem:
He sat down and cried that 19 of his children could have so much hate in
their hearts. That they didn't choose him, but another god that doesn't
exist, and now they are lost forever.
My gods. The ignorance. The bigotry. The fucking arrogance of their belief that they know the true nature of reality, and that they get it all from a book written by their own priests.
And they say I'm the deluded one.
