WTF?

I just tried to use my credit card, and it was declined. So I went to the website to find out what's up. My account has been sold to another company. I went to their website, but when I try to log in, it says my card number is wrong.

Their phone number offers NO way to get through to a human without having the card number, which it tells me is incorrect. I am PISSED OFF.

Edit: I finally got through to a human. Providian sold my account to Columbia (I really wish they wouldn't do shite like that), and my new card hasn't arrived yet, largely because the United States Postal Service are a bunch of incompetent fucktards who have TOTALLY SCREWED my mail for the last two weeks or more.

When I ran my credit report about two years ago, I found an oustanding debt of $5.00 to Wachovia Bank. I couldn't remember ever having an account with them, so I called them up. They could find no record of my ever having had an account with them, not even when they tried to find it by my SSN. After half an hour and being bumped up the totem pole several times, we finally discovered that my student loan had been sold to Wachovia at one point, and then almost immediately sold to another bank. The $5.00 was a vestigial product of that transfer.

They took care of it pretty quickly.

Eek, at least the time my accounts were transferred to other banks I've got to keep the same number.
