The World, and why I hate it.

I don't really hate it. But I do loathe the global society we've created. Everyone is far too concerned with the wrong things.

It stinks that I have to work most of my life to make the last part suck slightly less. It stinks that I see my daughter only three or four hours a day because 50,000 years of human civilization couldn't come up with a better system.

And it stinks that I can't find a way out of the trap.

Livejournal, and its place in my blogging

I'm considering putting the effort into a new blog, set up in my own space, using Wordpress or similar, designed around--and holding posts only about--writing and my quest to be published.

If I do it, LJ will remain here for the stuff I would not want a reading public to know about. Some entries might get migrated over, but this place would remain the one for folks who know me IRL or have "friended" me over the net. There's a lot of very personal stuff here I would not want possible readers to be privy to, and I really don't feel like going through ten years of stuff looking for the bits I want to lock away.

The way it would work is that deeply personal Eyes-Only stuff would go here. Writing posts and posts about stuff future fans might like to read would go both here and there.

Still trying to decide if I'm being pompous and/or presumptuous in even thinking about doing it at this stage. After all, I haven't even gotten a book finished, let alone begun sending it for queries. But I do plan to get the thing done this summer. Anyway. Your thoughts would be appreciated. All ten of you still around.
