Career paths not taken

Why didn't I position myself better, as a callow youth, to be working in
something like G4TV now? Oh, right, I was totally full of shit.

Don't get me wrong, I still like my job, but sometimes I wish I worked in
gaming reviewing or something that would combine my hobby with my livelihood
better. And when I see News Editors who are obviously 15 years younger than
me, it hurts my head.

I think this is where midlife crises come from--the realization that you
made some bad choices, and you could have done better. I like my life, and
I mostly like my career--but there are other careers I wish I'd thought
about when I was younger.

Then again, many of them were not considered possible careers until more
recently than I was in a position to join the field. And... huh. Anyway,
see ya--I've got students coming in.
