Angry? Yes, yes I am.
The comments on any article about education both sadden and anger me. So many people who are so ignorant of the real causes of Education's woes choose to blame everything and everybody except the real problem. They blame the union, the teachers, the lack of funding... mostly the teachers and their unions.
You want to know where the real problem is? Politicians with ZERO background in education or cognitive development who think they can decide how best to teach students even though they've never taught and never studied how humans learn. They throw test after badly-written test at us and tell us they are promoting accountability, when all they're doing is covering their own asses.
Let people who know HOW to educate our youth make the decisions. I don't want more money--I just want the politicians to stay out of my classroom.
