Budgets, they hurt me
Not mine, really; I mean the State's.
The district--and, therefore, my school's--budget has been slashed by several million dollars. This has led to such things as paper rationing. We've each been given a ream, and that's all we get for the month.
Wait... we're running the "art" school, where artistic endeavours are encouraged in every class, and we have to be careful about paper? We're teachers, and now if I want to run the copies I need I have to supply my own paper once I've gone through the ream I have? Excuse me?
I hope the teacher who insisted on buying a Scantron machine when we'd gotten by just fine without one for YEARS chokes on her lunch.
Seems odd, too, considering the budget I've been given for books for the ACE program I'll be teaching next year, but whatever.
