Thirty years ago today, my mother died.
In a month and a half, or so, my daughter will be born.
It's not a fair trade by any means. But it does make it a little easier. Today, however, I'm hyper-aware that my mother will never hold her grandchild. Tegan will have a grandma--two of them, in fact--but she'll never know the real one.
But then, neither did I, really.
