I've got to say, I don't get the "meh" responses about Pirates II. I loved it. There were places the characters and their actions made me a little "uncomfortable," but I don't see that as a bad thing. My inner Jack Davenport Fanboy wants to see Norrington as a hero, but he's not. Jack Sparrow is decidedly not a hero. Will Turner is, but he's too goody-goody, and he'd better find his inner Pirate in the next film, because it's Pirates of the Carribean, not A Pirate, a Wannabe, and a goody-goody-who-wishes-his-daddy-had-been-a-blacksmith-instead-of-a-pirate of the Carribean.
Bottom line? It was an enjoyable way to spend three hours of my life. I'll even watch it again.
And now I want to hit Disneyland again.
And play 7th Sea. Alleyn d'Argentique must fight again! As a Pirate!
