Dear LJ:

You can stop sending me month-old comments any time. After four daysof them, I'm a little sick of it.

As [livejournal.com profile] moriarty6 said, Wow.

So sad that those who NEED to see things like this are generally blinded to the point by the "unbelievable" elements. That, you see, is what bugs me the most about people who don't get science fiction as a genre. They get sidetracked by the starships, the aliens, the time travel, the what-have-you speculative elements, and completely miss the point that much of SF--though not, admittedly, all--is a commentary on our own world, our own people. They simply can't see it.

Very sad.

First off... I had a nice long conversation with my sister this evening. For those who don't know, she's 15 years old. The point, though, is that I am immensely proud of the young woman she is becoming. She's a beautiful young woman, in every way measureable.

Second: I got my grades back for my Tolkien class. The "Steaming pile o'crap" Term Paper was, in fact, better than I thought. I'm not kidding, here -- I thought the paper was horrible crap. I pulled it out of my ass in three days of really stressful hairpulling work. The REAL bragging goes here. Feel free to skip it. )
