I'm a sucker for gimmicks. Whether it's paper maps I've drawn and then encased in brass tubes, or sound files, or computer programs, I love them.

In my Stargate SG-1 game, I use the Audacity app to record my voice and then modify it so I sound like a Goa'uld, then play the sound files. In one session, I had a series of communications logs the PCs found I created this way, giving them vital clues. I also use the Stargate Sim Program when PCs are dialing out, to heighten the "feel" of being in the gate room. It also serves the purpose of keeping their PC interaction to the time they would realistically have; my players would talk for hours in the gate room if I didn't use this to limit them to the time they'd have if it were all really happening.

If I had the ability (read: the equipment) to film stuff for my games, I'd do that, too.

In other games, I've used similar toys. What kind of stuff do you use, if any?

"I like Conservatives. They're opposed to all questionable adventures abroad and for fiscal prudence and responsibility. It's right-wing nuts I can't stand."
