RPG Announcement
Ok, so I decided to do two things in regard to games I'm running.
First, the existing Stargate Game is disbanded. It will be reformed in a few weeks with a smaller player group and is invitation only. If you don't get an invite, please believe me, it isn't personal. I just think that SG-1 really can't handle a larger team, which I didn't realize until I was running it. So I'm going back to the beginning. More details will be given to the people in that game.
Second, I'm starting a NEW game. Yes, that's right, I intend to run two games from now until I get tired of it. Here's the catch:
The second game, which will be Star*Drive (a Space Opera setting using the Alternity system) will be a game with up to seven players. In a nutshell, Star*Drive is unabashed space opera set in the 26th century. The characters will begin as a small company running a trading vessel who get sucked into events they're really not prepared for. Will they become heroes, or will they be crushed? If you want a Hollywood "sound bite" description: Think "Firefly" meets "Babylon 5:" Everyman characters trapped in an epic storyline. If you want a more detailed description of the game, check out this link: What is Star*Drive?, which is an old entry of mine where I posted details written by one of the game designers. I love this setting, and I've been wanting to run it for seven years, and by the Nine, I'm going to.
Star*Drive has some reserved slots for people I'd really like to play in it. Once the reserved slots are either accepted or declined, I'll open the remaining slots for new players. Invites will be extended in a seperate post.
Stargate SG-1 WILL STILL RUN, but not as often, because I'm shrinking the player group down to only FOUR players, and not all of them are available to run a weekly game -- so SG-1 will be more of a "When we can, we'll play," and it may sometimes be played during the week, if the players are amenable and I have no deadlines that week.
This is what I've decided to make both myself and others happy. I hope it works.
