Well. One week down, fifteen to go.

So far, The Romantics class is my favorite; it's the one where I'm having the most fun and saying the most. It always was my favorite literary period.

The Shakespeare class is also going well; I reduced the prof to laughter today by paraphrasing a long passage from Antony and Cleopatra to (when he asked for someone to put it in more modern terms) as "Eh. No big deal."

I have a LOT of homework to do tomorrow so I won't have to do it over the weekend. Otherwise I'd be taking five books with me. Ick.

Going through my archives, I found this dream sequence I wrote for my Star Wars game. Only Elli saw it then, and for some reason I decided to share it now.

Events that preceded the dream: Issan, Elli's character, had been kidnapped by the Yuuzhan Vong and brainwashed into becoming Shaadra Tokk, a warrior who believed herself a Yuuzhan Vong and a Dark Sider. While Shaadra, she killed her mother, as well as several of her childhood friends and fellow Jedi. For several months, Shaadra Tokk rampaged her way through the galaxy on the side of the "bad guys", and only Elli (who had "killed" Issan off in a situation where the body wasn't recoverable and was playing a new character) knew Shaadra was really Issan.

Her fiance, Kasche Sarat, had eventually (seemingly) given his life to pull her back and snap her out of it. She discovered he was alive after all, but hidden and hostage to traitors somewhere else in the galaxy, and set off to find him. And one night, she had this dream:
You're running. You've been running, for hours, it seems. Your legs feel dead, your lungs are on fire, your chest tightens with fear with every step.

Behind you the creature pursues. IIiissaaaannnn! it calls, the reptilian tongue of the snake god tasting the air as it finds your scent.

"Leave me alone!" you cry with a voice ragged as synthwool pulled over razorwire.

I can't, Isssan. You're my prey.

You reach a short cliff face, about five meters high. Reaching into the dregs of your energy, you prepare yourself to leap the cliff. Just as the Force energizes your muscles, however, a raspy claw grabs your ankle, and a snakelike tongue tastes your skin. Reptile jaws open wide, and--

You awaken in your quarters on Mon Calimari, drenched in sweat, more terrified than any dream has ever made you. You instinctively turn to Kasche -- and only then do you remember he's not there, and where you've been, and what you've done.

And in the depths of your mind, something chuckles softly to itself.

Elli's reply, when she first saw this, was: "MOMMY!"

Made me laugh to see it again.
