School Stuff, sort of
I went down to CSUS and got my OneCard today.
The OneCard is a combination Student ID/Library Card/Debit Card (it accesses funds placed either by the student or by the Financial Aid department into a debit account accessed only by the OneCard and refunded when you leave CSUS). It also acts as a free pass for all RT travel (once I get registered and attach the semester sticker I'll get in the mail).
Anyway, the card has a picture on it. And in that picture, I look AWFUL. I mean, it's not as bad as my driver's license (in which I was thirty-five pounds heavier than I am now), but it's not pretty.
Ah well. It will work whether I look good on it or not. But I foresee next semester and after, people looking at it, then at me, and saying "Wow. You sure changed."
Aside from all that, the Olympic Trials are going on at CSUS, in case you hadn't heard. I had heard, but I didn't expect it to change the campus into as much of a mess as it has. There is practically no parking (I got lucky), the daily Permit machines are all out of order, and there are campus cops and city cops all over campus directing traffic.
