Few authors make me care so much about the characters they write that I'll pore over a novel umpteen times trying to figure out the genealogies so I can figure out which Family a certain character most likely belongs to.

And, ten years after I first read them, the death of certain characters still chokes me up.

FYI:

My oldest friend*, Ed, aka as [livejournal.com profile] thunderlord, will be appearing as Petruchio in the Shakespeare In the Park production of Taming of the Shrew this year.

I'm planning on attending the July 16 performance. It's a Friday night, and I'd love to make a picnic/social event out of it. If you're interested in coming, let me know and I'll add you to the "Save a Spot For" list.

Stefanie, I know you'll have probably seen it already, but if you want to do it again, I'd love to see you.

All are welcome. The more the merrier. Let's share one of the greatest romantic comedies ever, and be one in our sappiness.

NOTE: If you're coming, it's best to arrive early. The gates open at 6:30, but 5:30 or 6 is best. I'll be planning to arrive at 5 or so with a book and a blanket or two to save us a good spot. There will be reminders posted.

Admission is $12.00

* There's one person I've known longer than Ed, but we speak even more rarely than I get to see Ed and his wife, so he doesn't count.

I don't know how it happened (our cats never go outside), but for the first time in nearly a year, we've got fleas in the house.

DAMMIT.
