Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban
Hrm.
Not bad, but I agree with
graphxgrrl that there needs to be a fusion between Columbus and Cuaron, and I too hope Newell provides that fusion in the next film. It seemed to me to be a little rushed, with the characters flying from plot point to plot point, with too few neat character moments in between.
Michael Gambon was fine as Dumbledore, but I did miss Richard Harris. The only complaint I had about him was the costume -- it's like Dumbledore went from voluminous robes to an ugly green dressing gown. Ugh.
Still, the neat thing for me is imagining these kids and their friends a decade after the events in the books -- a thirtysomething Harry Potter and his wife Ginny (hey, it's where I'd go with it), Ron Weasely and his wife Hermione, their friends Seamas, Nigel, etc. ... It's fun.
