OK. So, when work comes to us without sufficient address information, we use various resources to determine where the property is. The last resort is that we call the requestor and ask for additional information.

On Friday I did just that. This morning, I find the determination on my desk with a note from another mapper circling the Loan Number. The note says "This is the APN. Terry." OK, I missed that. If I were him, I'd have made the determination and moved on, with maybe a little grumbling about others missing the obvious (It's happened before; we have one mapper who ALWAYS misses the obvious). Now, if this is the APN, that means he could have just finished the damn thing and got the work to the client like he's supposed to do. But no, he'd rather leave me a note so he can feel smart.

I detest the people around here. Especially the old men, Terry and Jim, who feel the need to sound like authorities on everything -- including stuff the rest of us know they're full of crap on.

Update: ARGH! I later discovered, after completing the thing, that he'd already done it (on a duplicate sent in later by the idiot requestor who, rather than SEND ME THE INFO LIKE I ASKED, sent in a seperate request) and CANCELLED mine, without leaving me a note saying so.

Asshole.

Bob Hope dies at 100

Hm. I always thought Bob Hope's humor was overdone and not all that funny, with some exceptions. However, he was a great man, and his passing dims the stars.

Rest, Bob. You've earned it.

Hey. Shout if you remember any of this stuff from my childhood:

1. Dialing for Dollars - "Ten from the bottom, Pat." It is thanks to this show that I appreciate old movies so much.
2. Space Giants with Goldar, Silvar, and Radar.
3. Spectreman: More powers than Ultraman, and no stupid Beta Capsule!
4. Captain Cosmic with 2T2 (showed Japanese Sentai shows in the Bay Area)
5. The Powers of Matthew Star
6. Bigfoot and Wild Boy
7. Shazam! and Isis: Saturday morning LIVE ACTION shows! I miss that.
8. Thundarr The Barbarian
9. MASK
10. Jason of Star Command: another Live Action show

The only thing I dislike about my new LJ format is that it forces all lines to be double-spaced. I hate that.

UPDATE: I found a way to change it. Woohoo for searching [livejournal.com profile] news and being bored at work.
