BTW, Elli:

Saturday night you kept insisting the house at 21st and F was the Dorothea Puente house. Nopenopenope.

Proof for you!
This page shows the actual house, which is at 14th and F.

Thoughts

1. September 20th, local friends are invited to my place for the Firefly premiere. It will be Elli-safe by then.

2. Shinji the wonder-kitty is not only the cutest freaking kitten on my block, but he and Caisha have become buddies. Shinji follows Caisha around wherever he goes, and I see them laying together all the time. I even caught them curled up together in my office's spare chair, and Caisha was purring, which he rarely does these days. Yay!

3. Chloe of Smallville, played by (I think) Allison Mack, is just too damned cute for words and beats Lana Lang out for hottest girl on the show. Though I'd still prefer Tom Welling. Ooooh... *both*! Go away, the rest of this thought is not for your eyes.

4. I hate slow-as-molasses-in-january dial-up. "Super-Fast 56k" my shiny metal ass. I want my cablemodem back!

5. I spent $300 on a PDA I pretty much use only as a phone book and an alarm clock. I need to get the software that will let me make/edit Word files on it. Oh well. At least it was freebie money.

6. I've added "Ballistic" to my Must-See list of movies this fall. Lucy Liu and Antonio Banderas as bad-ass superagents. Woohoo!

7. Mike says he'll come to Karaoke ("sounds fun" were his words), so long as he doesn't work the day after.

8. Time and Tide melts the snowman.

9. I'm changing my Time Lord character's name from Rohan to Rowan.

10. I'm /very/ tired.

WE SEE BLACK STARFIELD, FANFARE BEGINS AS TEXT SCROLLS:

Star Wars:
And All the Stars, Afire

Episode XXIV
Shadows of Forgotten Yesterdays

Reeling from the loss of ITHOR at
the hands of the YUUZHAN VONG, the
NEW REPUBLIC SENATE has devolved
into a mess of internal squabbling
and backbiting. Far too many of the
senators consider the safety of their
own worlds first -- neglecting the
fate of the whole galaxy. Political
self-interest is the order of the day,
and yet more systems fall to the
seemingly unstoppable onslaught of the
extragalactic invaders.

Equally unfortunate is the perception
that the war was begun by the JEDI,
by attacking what was intended as a
peaceful colonial mission. Ignoring
the lesson learned so painfully by
the late Senator Elegos A'Kla, they
believe they might be able to sue
for peace with the Yuuzhan Vong.

Meanwhile, the crew of the HARM'S WAY,
fresh from the Fleet's defeat at Ithor,
has been asked by ADMIRAL TRAEST KRE'FEY
to scout out new locations for both
refugee camps and military bases. They
have arrived over Ruusan, where they
are about to uncover a secret that has
lain virtually undisturbed for
generations . . .

EXT. SHOT: SPACE
PAN DOWN AND RIGHT; WE SEE HARM'S WAY BURST OUT OF HYPERSPACE
