Morrowind

Mike brought me Morrowind last night for the X-Box.

WOW!

The graphics are excellent, as expected. The races... well, there are four human "races" which are more nationalities, but with some ethnic characteristics; three Elven races -- Dark, High, and Wood Elves; orcs, Argonians (they look like a cross between a man, a fish, and a rat, and are reptilian), and I think one other as well. Class selection isn't just picking a class, but answering several questions, your answers to which determine your class. You also choose the sign you were born under, which gives you certain benefits. This is all done by talking to a man at the census bureau, who asks you these questions.

The control scheme is a little wonky, but it works, and I'm sure it will be second nature soon.

Also available for PC.

I'm starting to get bored with surveys, but this one I saw on [livejournal.com profile] akonken's LJ seems to be more useful and probably more scientific and rational than all the rest -- plus, it's about something somewhat important, not what color gummi bear I am.

It's also pretty damned accurate, in this case. Don't tell Mike.

You are bisexual.

Could people please stop referring to the WTC attacks as "nine-eleven"? My gods, how much of a dumbass do you have to be not to say "The trade center attacks" or "September 11th"?

Even worse is "nine-one-one." Whenever I hear that, I picture Bill Shatner.

If you're an actual friend of mine, or just for some INSANE reason need me to have you Email addy, please send me email at my Yahoo address. I only have Terri and Elli's addresses memorized, I admit.

Elli, re: Ender's Saga

I was wrong, I DID finish Xenocide. I liked that one, especially the world of Path and the things the Congress had done to it. Yeesh!

I have in my possession a cool short story, part of an anthology of new stories by established writers in their most well-known worlds. This story is the "lost tale" of how Ender met Jane in the years between the first two books. Interested in borrowing it?

Tidbits...

* I find I'm really bored with the idea of being drunk. It just doesn't seem worth it anymore. A little drinking, sure. A slight buzz once in a while, ok. But drunk? Over it.

* There's a 50-something guy at work who wears the Eye of Horus every day. That's cool.

* I'm on a downswing, moodwise.

* I keep thinking I should find out if Liz wants her fish back, since she's not going to China after all.

Farscape thing:

I'll be there, Ryan, but not until 9 or so. My family has asked me to come over this afternoon and have dinner with them in the early evening, and I think I need to be with them for a bit.

Terri, will you be heading out his way on your own, or will you need to be picked up? Let me know ASAP -- it will decide my route to his palce from Karla's.
