From IMDB.com:

Britney Spears is rerportedly set to spook fellow blonde babe Sarah Michelle Gellar in hit TV show Buffy The Vampire Slayer. The singer is reported to be appearing in six episodes of the teen series' next season as a nightmarish demon pitted against Gellar's do-gooding, undead- battling Buffy. An insider is quoted in British newspaper the Daily Star as saying, "This will be an amazing sight. Britney and Sarah Michelle Gellar are two of the world's most gorgeous girls. Millions will tune in to see the two of them fighting in their trademark figure- hugging outfits." Britney is hoping to consolidate her acting career following her debut feature Crossroads earlier this year.

Now, to be honest, I have NOTHING against Britney Spears at all. And I'm told her acting isn't too bad. This just screams of Stunt Casting, though. And I hate that.

The following is a Repost from JMS:

It had to happen sooner or later...with so many message boards and posts asking "What's your favorite B5 quote?" a book of Babylon 5 quotes was inevitable.

So "But In Purple I'm Stunning: Quotations from Babylon 5" is coming out from an independent publisher later this year. The book will also contain sections dedicated to fan choices for best/favorite quote. Fans of Babylon 5 are invited to send in their favorite quote, and why it's a favorite. The best of
these emails will be culled for the book, and along the way this will determine the #1 favorite quote.

In particular, the book will be looking for anecdotes/stories from fans about what a given quote, or what the show, meant to them in particular. There are a lot of people who have found comfort or meaning in the show, or found it helped them get through some of life's problems. (An example I sometimes cite at conventions was the young man dying of aids who asked his sister to put all of G'Kar's speeches about hope and never giving up on tape so he could listen to them at his bedside.)

It needn't be a heavy story, just one that has meaning for the person involved, can be a funny story, whatever. Basically the goal is to find the intersection where the show and its message and its words touched people.

All contributions will be considered free to use by virtue of being submitted for this project.

So if you have such an anecdote/story/message about a favorite quote or the show in general, send it to the following address (rather than replying to this, since I'll just have to forward it on in any event):

b5quotes@yahoo.ca

Thanks.

Hey, I need a favor.

Since I'm without Internet access from home for the forseeable future, and I cannot download from work, would someone who has a CD Burner please go to this website:

Okina-rdae Technologies

On the left-side menu bar, click on INSTALL PACKAGES, then Download the FULL INSTALL program and give it to me on a CD? (It's a free program)

It's a GM (and player) utility for the Star Wars RPG I'm going to need to do some stuff for the game. I can live without it, but I'd really appreciate it and I'm willing to compensate you for the disc.

Introduction to Babylon 5

The first season is... well, it's pretty standard TV, with a few "arc" episodes that move the overall story in the right direction. At the end of season 1, though, the Arc takes center stage -- season 1 ended with a massive change in direction for one character, and another -- the nominal lead -- left the show, replaced by another character who took center stage.

I could go on all day. I'm kind of pathetic about this, I admit.

There's a new guy here who is so hard of hearing he practically screams when he's on the phone, despite his hearing aids.

I FRELLING WANT TO SMACK HIM!!!!

He sits right next to me, you see.

In addition to this, his voice can only kindly be described as "reedy", and more accurately as "Nebbishy high-pitched nerd voice".

Ugh.

I wanna go home!

I will be giving you all the answer to that time-worn question (to which Terri already knows the answer, being the Innermost of the Inner Circle):

What is Spoo?

There is nothing like Celtic Drums to truly make me feel glad to be alive. It begins, and my blood stirs, and I know I am a true scion of the Emerald Isles.

With an Irish grandfather and a Scottish father, what's one to do but give in to the calling of the blood?
