I'm feeling kinda... eh. Slammed. I think, at this point, I'm going to just let my birthday go by. I'm really not wanting to plan anything more than the Imax thing, because I don't want to risk another birthday like the last one. Not that the last one was a complete loss, but it wasn't anywhere near as fun as I'd hoped for it to be. So it'll be a very quiet Memorial day weekend, I think. Which is ok. I'm a quiet person anyway. And I have my family's "celebration" on the 18th. That will likely be maddening, but pleasant.

Gaming

It's hard to be the GM. I find I'm jealous of my players. They get to play, to be someone else, for the hours we're playing. I don't. I mean, sure, I get to play a gazillion NPCs and the like, and do cruel and fun things to the PCs. But it's not the same, not when you have to keep the storyline in your head, when you know what's coming, and the bulk of the session's fun-to-crap ratio rests squarely on your shoulders.

I want to play in something again, which means either getting Ed and Steph to be more active once the play is over, or finding another game group to be a player in. Either way, not the easiest thing in the world. If only my old D&D game hadn't died a horrible death, it'd be ok. I miss Sulkrist almost as much as I miss Alleyn d'Argentique.

Sorry, folks. I don't have it in me to write well today.

Uhm. I think we're screwed.

*I* am, at any rate.

If you want to go this weekend, you'll have to buy tickets NOW, if it's not already too late, and you're absolutely looking at incredibly long lines. I'll be not doing it this weekend after all -- no flow. And besides, my only available day is Friday, and I'd prefer not to restrict all of you if you can get to it Thursday.

I'm ok with that, though, and will be unless someone ruins something for me. So you've been warned. ;)

Guess what, Sparky?

Not only did I tell everyone we were in that play, but Karla tells me she still has a copy of the tape.

Muahhahahahahaha!!!!

I want a household AI. It will have a female British voice, I'll name it something cool, like "Rommie" or maybe just "Ariel" and talk to it when I come home. It will catch me up on email, news, and so forth, and I'll tell it when to wake me from my nap and what shows to record for me. It will cook. It will tell Mormons, Jehovah's Witnesses, and salespeople to go away when they come to proselytize or sell things. Most importantly, it will open the door for the various animals when they want in and out.

Yes. I want this.

Wheeee!

Pictures from Firefly, Joss Whedon's scifi series, which will be running at 9pm Sundays next year on FOX.

Damn. It'll be competing with Alias. Ah well, that's why I had my people leak the secret of VCRs to you trogs.

Hmmm.

I might go camping Memorial Weekend... perhaps out in the redwoods. I haven't done that in ages; it would be nice.
