Is it wrong to "import" non Star Wars races into Star Wars, provided you don't import their non-SW technology?

Roswell was pre-empted by another stupid basketball playoff (I realise a lot of people are into basketball, but sheesh! No Science Fiction event ever pre-empts sports!), and I won't get to see it until this Saturday night (which means I'll be taping it and watching it Sunday).
