Because Sylvan asked...
In Dune, Paul Atreides becomes known as Muad'dib, but he is also called the Mahdi -- the "Voice from the Outer World." When I signed on to LiveJournal for the first time, I thought it was just fitting -- my last name is Atreides, of course, and since I had lofty ambitions for the content, it seemed a decent choice. And it's easier to type than Muad'dib.
Of course, the LJ has become a bit less than I intended, but I was being pretentious anyway, so I'm ok with that. :)
Now, as to how I came by the name Atreides... that's a different story. :)

I leave it to you, my friends, to tell me whether this fits me more than a tiny bit.

take free enneagram test
I tried to be honest on it, but considering the subjective nature of such tests, it's likely off a little.

Ok, I realise some of my friends like them and all, and I'm sorry to be a jerk about something you like, but...
Can anyone tell me why Cake is famous instead of rotting in obscurity?
I mean, sure, the guys in the band are probably nice, but I've heard better music played by high school marching bands, and better lyrics written by eighth-grade goth wannabes.
FEH!
What were they on when they wrote "Long Jacket"?
