I am very ... very... tired. And I had plenty of sleep. How unfair is that?

Fanatics are so amusing. Especially amusing is the "analysis" of Lord of The Rings.

From Things My Girlfriend and I have Argued About, the delightful tale of an Englishman and his scary German girlfriend (more specifically from the FAQ section for Americans):

You hate Americans, don't you?

Absolutely not. Some of the brightest, funniest, most erudite, down-to-earth and self-effacing people I know are Americans. (Or Canadians - which is the same thing. Yes it is. I'm not listening - Yes - It - Is.) Even my limited experience suggests most Americans are extremely pleasant people. I'm just sorry that the majority have to share a country with such a large minority of yawping, jingoistic, humourless, moronic wankers. Oh, and my sympathies about your President too.

Let me repeat what I just said there so there can be no possible mistake. We have, dear people of the Internet, a hard core of morons. They are: dull-eyed, humourless (though they think they aren't), wearisome, insistently vocal and - consistently - American. However, how-ev-er, the large majority of Americans of quite, quite lovely. I adore them all. If one of my children ever came home and said 'Father, I'm in love with an American.' I'd swell with delight. I'd have a feast prepared and bells rung. Americans are ace. I genuinely do like Americans. Excluding (for obvious reasons) the French, then the only set of people I think are more rubbish than not are the English - sullen, littering, drunks clutching a mobile phone in one hand while in the other there is a lead which ends in a crapping dog. OK? Is that plain? America - come here, I want to kiss each and every one of your pretty faces.

I love that man. And I hate LJ, which won't accept my changes.

I ran another Star Wars game this last Sunday.

Regardless of whether or not my players had fun, I royally screwed it. My timeline is now all messed up because I let things happen in the wrong order, several weeks of events now have to happen out of order (which I can do, but which won't make quite as much sense), and I'm generally not pleased with myself. In my eagerness to get into the Big Events, I rushed through what I'd planned to do (Note for players: the battle on New Duro should have taken a long time, and none of the Duro there would have made it alive; Luke and Mara should have left for Belkadan AFTER the heroes were there; several major events should have occurred before you got to Belkadan) and now have to scramble to rethink it all and fit it into the timeline more or less intact.

And, of course, Jzaraak and his minions are still out there.

Gregory, let me know when you'll be available for a special solo session explaining where you were during all this.

All of these sites are Worthy, and I visit each one at least once a week (many more often than that).

I'd love to do better, more permanent links, but that will have to wait until I move my LJ to another page.

Stuff & Stuff: The website of David Kleeman, a guy I suspect is much cooler than he lets on. David's a denizen of (I think) the South Bay, and is currently unemployed thanks to evil HR people and layoffs. Get him a job.

Might Girl: Mighty girl is Mighty. Look on her words, ye mortals, and despair!

Lil' Dragon: The website of a teacher in Canada. I'd say his name, but he removed it from his site for reasons I can't fault (even though I'm not sure I'd do the same in his shoes). He's a smart guy, and though I think he sometimes overpoliticises and/or over-analyses things, I always enjoy reading his thoughts.

LittleYellowDifferent: Ernie Hsiung, the Chairman, an incredibly funny Gaysian in the South Bay. Ernie's page is always entertaining and sometimes insightful (but don't tell him that!).

Brian Central: The website of my friend Brian, who deserves a much happier time than he's been having lately. Go to his site and leave him messages that he needs to move to sunny California, where the gay boys are more clonelike than anywhere else, but at least he'll have decent friends to hang with.

A Talent For War: A site that is heaven for fans of Space Sim PC Games. Since those are my favorite kind of PC games, I go there often for updates on upcoming releases and other news.

Shakespeare's Sonnets has all of the Bard's sonnets online, with commentary. A good resource if, unlike me, you don't have three seperate copies of the things. The commentary is the entertaining part; sometimes it's insightful, often it's just funny.

Anyone else think that far, far too many humans in the Buffyverse are now fighting the bad guys and winning?

Really, with all these humans running around able to kick major vamp ass, how is Buffy herself unique anymore?
