"When you go to the premiere, you've got to look right, but the whole ''Who are you wearing?'' thing is so strange to me. I'm a Northwest girl who wears overalls and big T shirts. I didn't even wear makeup before I moved to Los Angeles. My manager wants to take me shopping because he doesn't trust me to buy a dress myself."

What a load of utter crap.

Just kidding.

Damn, this episode was brilliant! Good songs, good music, good plot. I liked how he worked the singing into the show instead of as a set-apart work.

Highlights:

Tara's singing

Tara's and Willow's outfits -- the first time I've ever looked at
Tara and thought wow!

Spike's big number -- easily my favorite

"They got the MUUUUUUUUUUSSSSSTAAAARRRRRD Ooooooouuuuut!!"

The "Walk through the Fire" number. Except for a couple of humorous lines ("This line is just filler"), that was a powerful piece, as was Tara and Giles' duet.

Xander & Anya's number... retro 30's stuff! My gods, it's like the stuff I grew up watching!

The various homages to past musicals

Buffy's revelation to her friends that they pulled her out of heaven, not hell. Did anyone else see the look of utter horror and self-hatred on Willow's face?

Buffy kicking the door in... what an entrance!

I'll be watching this one again once or twice.

Giles and Buffy in the training room:

Buffy: I'm just worried this session will turn into a bad training montage from the early 80's.
Giles; Well, if we hear any power chords, we'll lie down until they go away.
