More CoH blithering. Then actual stuff you might care about.
As I wait for a print job to finish, I figured I'd annoy you with more City of Heroes pics.
I was never really happy with Skyborn's original look. It was much too Northstar, and his powers have little to do with Northstar. And, of course, it was so obvious (despite the fact I didn't really set out to do it) that I was worried I'd get some grief eventually. So I took off to the in-game Tailor to change his look. And I'm much happier with it. I kept the black/white color scheme, but varied it more. What do you think of the new look?
( Those with no interest, move along. )
In other news: WASC is done. Now all we have to do is wait for the official report and the accreditation result, which we won't get until Easter.
Four more weeks and I get a week off! Woo-hoo!
The union got me a raise! Woo-hoo! (Mind you, it's not real big, but anything is good these days!)
I LOVE my second period English class! They're great--FAR better behaved than last semester's class, which is probably equal parts more serious students and me being a better teacher after half a year of learning by doing. Last semester it took me nearly a month to get the class through The Crucible; this semester we're halfway done in a little less than a week. They're FLYING through it--and more importantly, they're getting it.
I've been informed unofficially that I'll be back next year, so I'm not worried about the pink slip I'll be receiving in a week. I'm classified "Temporary" because I'm an Intern, which means my contract is only 1 School year. So as of June 20, I'm officially not an employee of the District (though I'll still collect July and August checks due to the way payroll is done, and my benefits will continue through the new contract year), but then I'll be re-hired by my principal as soon as the posting is put up, and all will be well. After May 2008 they can hire me as a "Permanent" teacher, and my two-year probationary period will be over, as well. Life is good.
On the other hand, Elli is still feeling horrible, thanks to the flu AND pregnancy. Which sucks for both of us, but mostly for her. I'm trying to take care of her, but all I can do is try to make her comfy.
