ARGH! My grandfather is a pain!
So I get a call from my aunt asking me to take my grandfather to his eye appointment at 2:30. No problem.
Then I get a call from grandpa, asking me to come at 1 and that he needs me to fix his computer.
I get there at 1 to find he's already left, impatient, because his appointment is at 1:30, not 2:30. For informational purposes: It takes me fifteen minutes to get from his house to the doctor's office. We'd have arrived in plenty of time.
He left a message for me to meet him here. So now I get to get him home, then figure out how to get back here to get his truck. All because Bruce Fewel is the most stubborn and impatient human being I have ever known.
Update Grandpa wasn't pissed; he was cognizant that the screw-up was his. He didn't need a ride home after all (they just checked him, they didn't put anything in his eyes), so all turned out well. He even laughed about it and thanked me for coming.

School Stuff
I just got my invitation to register; this is good.
Even better, I was informed this week that CSUS' Financial Aid department is deferring my fees. What this means is that I can register on my reg date (July 21st after 1pm) without paying my fees. If there is a Financial Aid Award, the fees will be deducted and I'll be billed for any remaining amount; if there is no award I'll get a bill for the full amount. This reduces the strain on my family (not that there was much, but still, coming up with $1400 (it went up) isn't easy for anyone who isn't ridiculously wealthy, and they've had to spend a lot of money this past spring and summer so far. I'm very fortunate they're still willing and eager to help me out.
It's getting closer. Thanks be that I'm an English major; we get the cheaper books (many of my texts will be books I can buy cheaply almost anywhere; I only have a few really expensive ones, it looks like).

More iBook love.
So I'm ripping a J-pop CD I own into iTunes, and I use the CDDB to get the track names (And I'm so glad
gravity_ mentioned that; because of her I found it).
And it brings the track titles down in both English and, when appropriate, hiragana, katakana, and Kanji.
Gotta love that.
Now that it's done, I'm getting back offline, I hate hanging on when using Dialup beyond what I need.
